Our Services

Respite / Short breaks

A state of the art Respite facility that has been considerately designed and remodelled to meet the needs of individuals and families who lacked adequate provision within our local community. Our Fairway’s Respite provides individuals with a home away from home and affords families and careers the peace of mind needed for them to enjoy their down time also.

Respite care is a brief period of care that can last from a night/short weekend stay to longer stays usually lasting one to two weeks. This type of care is received from a caregiver other than your regular provider. Depending on the situation, these respite breaks may be planned or impromptu and under our provision will occur at our Respite facility. We do also offer support on short stays/breaks away from our Fairway’s centre, in a holiday destination of your choice.

Everyone needs some time for themselves, but those who give and receive care need it even more. Here, respite care can play a crucial role in your daily routine and that of your relationship with your caregiver. The usual reason for doing this is to give both yourself and your caregiver some healthy break or vacation.

We are available whenever you need us, whether it be to cover a two-week vacation, a little break, or because of illness or a family emergency. We provide personalised support from our experienced and specialist staff teams, who have graduated through our robust and comprehensive Staff Training Induction Programme and continued professional development.

Our team of devoted caregivers has vast experience and has undergone extensive training to deliver the best person centred care possible. Even when you're not there, we're here to make sure the person you care for receives the best in class care. You can be sure that your loved one is in safe care with all their needs met at every hour of their stay due to our robust protocols and organisational policies and procedures, not to mention our company ethos that is shared by all our staff.

We are also a Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulated service, meaning that we are held to very high standards from our regulatory body, as well as other bodies within our local authority. These requirements closely govern our practice and we ensure we always adhere to them precisely across the whole organisation.

We also make a conscious effort to invite external scrutiny across all our CQC regulated provisions to ensure a high standard of quality and performance in our practice. We take a multidisciplinary approach with our quality assurance, by inviting external inspections from our Local authority from commissioners and social workers, Nurses and Ex CQC inspectors who are all committed to ensuring that our services and support offering are of the highest standard. We understand we cannot always be perfect and that there will always be lessons to learn in driving our service forwards for the sake of those individuals accessing it. We believe this approach enriches us with those insights to analyse and manage risk, omit shortcomings as best we can and ensure lessons are learned to ultimately improve and move the organisation forwards.

We can support you every step of the way, whether you have a social need, care specific to certain health needs, or respite care for persons with any disabilities. We will guide you in setting up respite care and provide you with information and advice on your journey towards independence and reaching your full potential. Gaining greater independence is what makes our respite service a great stepping stone towards supported living for those that have ambitions to one day flee the nest and be supported in their own home.

  • Respite support is an important time for individuals with the assessed needs, not only to help them build the independence skills for the wider world but also to have some healthy time apart from their families or regular carers. Respite is an exciting and valuable opportunity for those accessing the service, and it is something that everyone looks forward to. However, the change to an individual's routine can present its challenges. That’s where we are on hand to help all parties plan ahead and find an arrangement that suits all involved, so that everyone gets the best experience out of our respite service.

When an individual’s usual caregivers are not available, respite care can be provided temporarily. Respite stays provide regular caregivers a well deserved break, holiday or additional specialised support during times of need. This could be the recovery process following an accident, illness, or surgery or it might be that an individual's regular caregiver needs some time to to focus on their other priorities. This might include just taking a break to pursue and enjoy their other interests, taking time to focus on relationships with others close to them or just keeping fit and taking some time to relax, switch off and focus on themselves. This is a healthy and important necessity for caregivers, especially for the main caregiver, so it is vitally important that respite services like ours exist so that carer’s loved ones with an assessed need can access a place where they are cared for properly so everyone has the peace of mind to enjoy their break to the full.

Our service and skilled support staff offer this short term solution for a wide variety of support needs. Our team is available to assist while regular carers take a much needed break from their duties of providing full-time care.

More than just managing the daily responsibilities, caring for another person can be physically and mentally taxing. The emotional strain can also be a lot to bear, particularly when providing care for extended periods of time. It is our aim to provide fulfilling short stays for individual’s Where all their care needs are met and expectations exceeded. Our skilled support and management team are able to support complex and additional health and social care needs of individuals requiring respite within our fully comprehensive service.
